The primary problem that EduCycle seeks to address is the educational gap prevalent in low-income communities such as Ikorodu. They aim to tackle the issue of limited access to literary books and educational materials, which significantly worsens the development of basic literacy skills among children aged 6-12. This lack of access magnifies challenges faced by students, such as poor reading comprehension and vocabulary skills, ultimately hindering academic performance and perpetuating the cycle of poverty. They aim to increase access to literary books and educational materials for 500 children aged 6-12 within one year, improve reading comprehension, vocabulary, and literacy skills among targeted children, and foster a culture of reading and lifelong learning within the community.

Dyslexia Organisation Kenya aims to equip teachers and educators with the skills to identify and address dyslexia-related challenges in the classroom while promoting inclusive education that accommodates diverse learning needs. The organisation also empowers parents and caregivers with the knowledge to advocate for their children and actively support their educational journey. A key focus is reducing stigma and misconceptions surrounding dyslexia through awareness campaigns and community engagement. Additionally, it seeks to establish sustainable support systems within local education practices to ensure long-term assistance for learners with dyslexia. By improving understanding of invisible learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental disorders, the organisation helps educators and caregivers better support affected children academically, emotionally, and socially. It also highlights the psychosocial impact of misunderstanding dyslexic learners, advocating for a more patient and supportive approach that prioritises their mental well-being.

FUES’s project called the "SPARKLING DIGITAL INNOVATION: IGNITING THE TECH POTENTIAL OF DEAF GIRLS" aims to address several key problems faced by deaf girls in accessing and participating in the tech industry. Some of these problems include limited access to education, underrepresentation in tech, communication barriers, limited access to mentorship and role models, and technology accessibility. By addressing these problems, the project seeks to empower deaf girls with the skills, resources, and support they need to overcome barriers and succeed in the tech industry. It aims to create a more inclusive and accessible environment where deaf girls can thrive, contribute their unique perspectives and talents, and pursue fulfilling careers in technology.

MentorHer Ghana aim to guide young Ghanaian girls with the skills, resources, and creative thinking tactics that will prepare them for the abundance of opportunities their country has to offer. Their project SheCode aims to provide girls with the opportunity to learn and develop coding and computer skills.

Young Changemakers Foundation is an impact-oriented and youth-led organisation that is focused on positively transforming people and communities through peacebuilding and empowerment projects and initiatives. Their project, the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Tolerance Inclusion aims to tackle the issue of lack of access to sexual and reproductive health and rights education for adolescents living in the most marginalised communities of Ogun State, Nigeria.

Hands of Compassion is a non-profit organisation that provides emotional, physical, psychosocial, and educational support for children between the ages of 5-18 in a village in Limpopo in the hopes that they will stay in school, perform well, and eventually change their circumstances. The Hands of Compassion project provides daily nutritious meals for 60 children Monday-Friday, homework supervision and assistance, a reading club, and a literacy program.

KLCI is a youth-led non-profit organisation that uses a 3-pronged approach to reducing inequalities and developing life skills in young children and adults: Education for Sustainable Development, Mentorship, and Advocacy. Their Skill2Rural Bootcamp is a 2-5 day intensive program which aims to orientate, empower, and support children in rural communities. Students work in groups to co-create prototypes and innovative solutions to problems they are facing in their communities using design-based thinking.

Menya Accelerator is a non-profit education-centred social initiative aiming to provide high-quality education programs for youth enrolled in formal educations institutions and beyond in Burundi. Their initiative fosters the development of creative thinking, and the acquisition of 21st-century skills, while promoting community-building and entrepreneurship.

To empower and educate young girls and women on menstruation; menstrual health and hygiene practices in remote areas through community led workshops.

The project Fighting Hidden Hunger (Nutrient deficiencies) will set up 5 more school gardens. It will teach children gardening skills and educate them about the importance of good nutrition.

Based in Zimbabwe, Gateway to Elation is an organization that advocates for the welfare of people with eyesight impairments. For over 4 years, the organization has been training blind youths in computer literacy, mobility and social interaction skills. RSAF was honoured to support Gateway to Elation in 2017 by awarding a grant to the organization.

This sole clinic centre in the Kamuturu community recently constructed a new paediatric ward. However, the new ward lacks electrical facilities to provide light for patients that need to be kept overnight. The proposed project will install 20 lights powered by 2 solar panel arrays that will help ensure that the schedule of crucial patient treatment continues throughout the night.
